Strong Heart Gemstone Mala

This is one of those pieces that started in one place and ended up everywhere. Designed originally as a men's mala, it's become one of our most-loved pieces full stop — worn by men and women in roughly equal measure.

Black Lava makes up most of the strand — rough, matte, born from fire, often associated with grounding and steadiness. African Turquoise runs through it in muted blue-green, a stone linked to growth and to a kind of calm resilience, the sort that helps you keep showing up. The guru bead is an oval Black Lava, finished with a shorter, thicker black tassel — though it works just as well without one, if you prefer something more streamlined.

Made from 108 beads of 8mm, finished with an oval Black Lava guru bead, available with or without a tassel. Handknotted by me, one knot at a time.
