This was the first mala where I used Karen Hill Tribe silver — hand-hammered pieces made by Karen craftsmen in northern Thailand, with a higher silver content than sterling. Once I saw it next to Labradorite, I knew it belonged together.
Labradorite is the kind of stone that looks plain until it isn't — grey at first glance, then flashing blue and grey when it catches the light. It's often associated with noticing things you'd otherwise miss, including about yourself. Black Onyx runs alongside it, grounding all that flash with something steadier and darker.
At the centre, a silver vermeil bead made by Karen craftsmen — hand-hammered, with small chased details, no two pieces ever quite identical.
This is a mala for clarity, new beginnings, and strength — for anyone in a season of figuring things out, paying attention to what's actually going on beneath the surface. You'll find it filed under Clarity & Focus, New Beginnings, and Strength & Protection here.
Made from 108 beads, finished with a hand-hammered Karen Hill Tribe silver vermeil guru bead. Handknotted by me, one knot at a time.
Note: as these are natural gemstones, each one carries its own markings and shades, so your mala may vary slightly from the photos.
