Serendipity Gemstone Mala with Black Onyx and Labradorite

Labradorite has earned a few nicknames over the years — "Stone of Serendipity" is one of the nicer ones, tied to its habit of flashing unexpected colour when you least expect it.

That flash — blue, sometimes gold, appearing and disappearing depending on the angle — sits against a steady base of Black Onyx, which makes up most of the strand and forms the guru bead too. Onyx is often associated with focus and with a kind of quiet resilience, the sort that holds steady while Labradorite does its thing.

It finishes with a sleek grey tassel — understated, unisex, easy to wear with anything.

Made from 108 beads in 8mm and 6mm sizes, finished with a Black Onyx guru bead and a grey tassel. Handknotted by me, one knot at a time.
