Hold this mala up to the light and move it slightly — Larvikite and Labradorite both do something stones aren't supposed to do: they shift. Flecks of silver-blue appear and disappear depending on the angle, as if the stones are quietly alive.
Larvikite is a deep, almost black stone with a natural shimmer running through it — sometimes called "black moonstone" for that flash. Labradorite does something similar but bolder, flaring blue and gold when it catches the light. Amazonite sits between them, calmer and more solid, a soft blue-green that grounds all that shimmer. Together they're a small study in the way light moves — here, then gone, then back again.
At the centre, a silver Flower of Life pendant, handcrafted in Bali — a geometric pattern of overlapping circles that's appeared in art and architecture across many cultures and centuries, often used as a symbol of how everything connects to everything else.
This is a mala for new beginnings and for meditation — for the start of something, or for sitting quietly with where you already are. It pairs well with its twin, the Flower of Life Man Gemstone Mala, if you're shopping for two. You'll find it filed under Meditation & Practice and New Beginnings here.
Made from 108 beads of 8mm, with a few 6mm beads placed at the bottom, hanging to approximately 60cm including the pendant. Handknotted by me, one knot at a time.
Note: as these are natural gemstones, each one carries its own markings and shades, so your mala may vary slightly from the photos.
